traceless is a circular bioeconomy startup based in Hamburg, Germany. On a mission to tackle global plastic pollution, fossil dependency and climate change, the team has developed a novel, holistically sustainable material solution: traceless®!

Manufactured with their patent-pending process, traceless® materials are based on plant residues of the agricultural industry, naturally compostable, certified plastic- and fossil free, and save up to 95% carbon emissions and 83% fossil energy demand compared to conventional plastics. Designed for the biological cycle according to the CradleToCradle principle, they are free of potentially harmful chemicals in product and process, entirely based on natural biopolymers - to truly leave no trace.

Even though traceless® materials are chemically natural and plastic-free, they can be further processed using standard technologies, to rigid moulded applications, flexible films or coatings and adhesives. This way, they can replact plastics and bioplastics in a wide range of use cases - from packaging over single-use items to paper coatings and adhesives.

Since the founding in 2020 by Anne Lamp and Johanna Baare, the multidisciplinary team has already built a pilot plant for material production, launched first pilot products made from traceless®, and developed more pilot applications. In order to make the biggest possible contribution to our environmental challenges, it is their aim to scale the material technology to industrial scale as quickly as possible.
